Should Christians Keep The Old Covenant Commandments?…

…and if so which Commandments or, perhaps, a better question would be, what is meant by the word ‘KEEP’ in this context. (See link No. 1 below).

How are we supposed to keep The Commandments? We could, and should, also ask what do we mean by THE COMMANDMENTS? Are we talking about The Whole Law as in the Old Covenant Law which consisted of ALL THE COMMANDMENTS or are we talking about something completely different, that is, the non-Scriptural ‘Ceremonial Law’, when we speak of THE COMMANDMENTS in a New Testament sense?

Then again, how many Commandments are we actually referring to when mentioning The Ten Commandments which, in Truth, are just a summary of the complete Mosaic Law and/or all of the Old Covenant Law – The Torah as some gnat strainers like to call it. The people of Ancient Israel used to keep The Commandments when they were being obedient and making their animal sacrifices to atone for their sins, which was not often I hasten to add.

OK, so these are all very straight forward points and questions are they not? There’s nothing here that can be treated with ambiguity so as to cause confusion, as some are want to do. Having said that, there are those who do like to cause confusion and they do this with great regularity by blurring the lines and creating contradictions through misinterpretation of 1) What The Commandments are, ten or otherwise and 2) What ‘KEEPING’ The Commandments actually means, if we profess to be Christians living under Yashua Messiah’s Glorious Grace. Now some deliberately cause confusion because they have a wilful satanic agenda and others unintentionally through dumb blind ignorance. Either way, both types are serving The Devil, whether knowingly or unknowingly, and not Yashua Messiah.

With the preamble over I will now answer each of the above questions so that at the end of this article you will definitely know for sure how a born of God (born again) Christian ‘keeps’ the commandments and, at the same time, how deluded people of the Cainite-Judeo-Christian religion (mainstream Christians) struggle in vain and fail every time in their attempts to OBEY The Commandments.

First question:

Which commandments? Well that’s easy, because Yashua Messiah told us so, plainly, so that we would not get bogged down in satanic Judaising error and confusion:

Matthew 22:34-36 (KJV) But when The Pharisees had heard that He had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. 35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked Him a question, tempting Him, and saying, 36 Master, which is the Great Commandment in The Law?

Now notice this, a Pharisee, who was also a lawyer, (a man of The Commandments or The Law) asks Yashua Messiah what The Great Commandment is in The law. Well doesn’t he know? Of course he does, but his question is a devious loaded question and he is asking Yashua Messiah this question in order to try and trip Him up. Let it sink in, this is the only reason he is asking this question and he is not the least bit interested in The Truth. This is standard satanic Judaiser behaviour, and the same sort of evil satanic behaviour I experience from one or three demonic commentators all the time. The same snake in the grass tactics are used repeatedly by these sons of the Devil with their Law polluted Grace killing message.

So what was Yashua Messiah’s answer to this Pharisee trained Judaising mongrel dog?:

Matthew 22:37-38 (KJV) Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and Great Commandment.

Now is this the answer the lawyer Judaising mongrel dog was expecting? NO, not on your life, so what answer was he expecting? This:

Exodus 20:3-7 (KJV) Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. 7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Here in the Old Covenant verses of Exodus we can see a different version of the Great Commandment than the one Yashua Messiah gave to the Pharisee lawyer mongrel dog in Matthew. In Exodus we see one “thou shalt have no” and three “thou shalt nots.” In stark contrast what do we see in Matthew? One exhortation to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind – a voluntary Spiritual action, and that’s all. I will return later to explain verse 6.

Do you see the difference here? I do hope so, because many do not and stumble at this Truth just like the Pharisees did in the first century. Moreover, do not be deceived by the creatures of the Cainite-Judeo-Christian religion (mainstream Christian), because thousands of them believe the Old Covenant version of this Great Commandment, not the New Covenant version and therein lies their evil graceless spiritual ruin (destruction).

Second question:

What is meant by the word ‘KEEP’ in this context?

Well let’s start with the Old Covenant meaning first, from the Hebrew tongue and from Strong’s we have:

Keep – H1804 – shâmar – shaw-mar’ – A primitive root; properly to hedge about (as with thorns), that is, guard; generally to protect attend to, etc.: – beware, be circumspect, take heed (to self), keep (-er, self), mark, look narrowly, observe, preserve, regard, reserve, save (self), sure, (that lay) wait (for), watch (-man).

And again from Strong’s but now from The New Covenant Greek MSS:

Keep – G5083 – tēreō – tay-reh’-o – From teros (a watch; perhaps akin to G2334); to guard (from loss or injury, properly by keeping the eye upon; and thus differing from G5442, which is properly to prevent escaping; and from G2892, which implies a fortress or full military lines of apparatus), that is, to note (a prophecy; figuratively to fulfil a command); by implication to detain (in custody; figuratively to maintain); by extension to withhold (for personal ends; figuratively to keep unmarried): – hold fast, keep (-er), (ob-, pre-, re) serve, watch.

Now what do we learn from these two definitions of the word ‘keep’? Have you noticed the absence of one crucial word here and, by crucial, I mean crucial to the mongrel dogs of the satanic Cainite-Judeo-Christian Religion and other weird cult denominations (demon-inations)? The crucial word is ‘OBEY’, for nowhere in these two definitions do we find that word. What I found more interesting in this study is that this word ‘obey’ is not even to be found in the Hebrew Old Covenant definition either, which is where one would have expected to find it. What, though, do we find? Verse 6 is what we find:

Exodus 20:6 (KJV) And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that LOVE ME, and keep my commandments. (All-caps mine)

Notice the crucial word here – ‘love’, that is, mercy shown to those that love God and willingly follow Him, not to those that obey under a heavy yoke of do this and don’t do that through obedience based fear. The bottom line here is this: can we be commanded to love God or anyone else for that matter, or could a man command a woman to love him? Well if you are a Judaiser you could try I suppose!!!

Third question:

Therefore with question two in mind, how are we supposed to ‘KEEP’ The Commandments?

I ask this question in The Light of us being Born of God Christians, not as members of the Cainite-Judeo-Christian Religion, because they don’t know how to ‘keep’ The Commandments. They believe that Old Covenant observance and obedience to The Commandments via a strict self controlled, self disciplined, boot strap regime is still required in order for them to say that they truly keep The Commandments, and in order to maintain their own salvation. What does this mean and where is Grace in this arrangement? Grace is nowhere in this arrangement, for their ‘salvation’ or better slavation depends upon them and their own strength and ability in obedience to The Commandments to ‘secure’ their salvation. All this, of course, under the tyrannical gaze of their satanic fear based ogre god with the all seeing eye (See link No. 2 below).

Moreover, was there ever salvation in obedience to The Commandments? Did any Old Covenant people, apart from The Patriarchs, King David, The Prophets and a handful of others, gain salvation? Were any of them saved, even though they kept The Commandments and sacrificed a 1001 animals? No, a thousand times no, none of them were saved. Why not? Easy, because Yashua Messiah had not yet come to take away their sins and grant them His Grace, Faith and salvation. Will they have an opportunity to be saved in the future second resurrection? Of course, for all mankind will be saved – eventually, but not all hu-man (serpent-man) kind.

1 Timothy 2:4 (KJV) Who will have (desires) all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (Brackets mine)

OK, so how do we really keep The New Covenant Commandments under Grace? Again that’s easy, WE LOVE THEM and guard them, hold on to them as precious, KEEP and protect them and we love them, guard them, KEEP them, and hold on to, and protect them, because we love The Father and The Son and our brothers and sisters and there it is – The Law or The Commandments FULFILLED in EVERY RESPECT, and all with no obedience or observance involved at all. So where do these literal Commandment keeping Cainite-Judeo-Christians get their evil ideas? Yet again, that’s easy, through their believing that they accepted a ‘Jesus’ as their saviour.

You see, this ‘Jesus’ is a phony Jesus, a ‘Jesus’ of their own making so, in effect, this ‘Jesus’ is powerless to save them, and in Truth hasn’t saved them at all. This leaves these wretched people struggling to keep The Commandments in Old Covenant mode, for they are not under The New Covenant and cannot be recipients of Yashua Messiah’s saving Faith and Grace.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) For by Grace are ye saved through Faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Again, you see, we cannot be saved by works, that is, by obedience to The Law and/or obedience to The Commandments, for we are saved by Faith and Grace which are free gifts. Which Paul confirms for us here:

Galatians 2:21 (KJV) I do not frustrate The Grace of God: for if righteousness come by The Law, (Commandment keeping) then Christ is dead in vain. (Brackets mine)

So are Ten Commandment keepers frustrating Grace AND trampling all over Yashua Messiah’s sacrifice? You bet your life they are.

Fourth question:

Are we talking about The Law as in the Old Covenant Law which consisted of ALL THE COMMANDMENTS?

Even though this topic is already fully explained above, I ask this final question because there is a preponderance of thinking within the Cainite-Judeo-Christian Religion that is very woolly and unclear on this issue. It is woolly and unclear, because they do not really understand what obedience to The Law means. For them there appears to be a New Covenant Ten Commandments (The Law) that replaced the Old Covenant Ten Commandments (The Law). Now how did they come to this weird conclusion? Easy, no understanding of Grace and what The New Covenant actually is, nor any understanding of what the word ‘keep’ means. So let’s get some clarification on this:

James 2:10 (KJV) For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Right, let’s get this clear so that there is no confusion or ambiguity. If we intend on obeying The Commandments we had better make sure that we know what we are doing and are obeying them all, and by all I mean the Whole Mosaic Law. This is what’s meant by keeping The Commandments if we are invoking the words obey, obedience or obedient in relation to The Commandments. This will mean circumcision, abstaining from unclean foods, sunset Friday to sunset Saturday Sabbath observance, the numerous annual Holy Days and Festivals and of course the non wearing of mixed cloths. This is what The Pharisees did and they were faultless in their keeping of The Commandments. They dotted every ‘i’ and crossed every ‘t’ so were perfect in terms of keeping The Commandments and yet they had a problem – a massive problem and that problem was UNBELIEF. Yashua Messiah made it very plain to us what He wanted or expected of us:

Matthew 5:20 (KJV) For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the Kingdom of Heaven (God). (Brackets mine)

So how does our righteousness exceed that of The Pharisees and Scribes? Very easy, (although not for some) through simple belief and faith in Yashua Messiah. If anything else is involved or invoked we can then boast, for it us that’s earning our own salvation through Law keeping or Commandment keeping.

We must keep in the forefront of our minds that love of God is the key here, not obedience to The Law or The Commandments.

Romans 13:8 (KJV) Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

Here it is folks, in plain and simple English, he who loves another has fulfilled The Commandments and The Law.

And again:

Romans 13:10 (KJV) Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
