1 John 5:3 Why Are YASHUA MESSIAH’S Commandments Not Grievous?

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: I am currently publishing a new version of The Set Apart Scriptures – The MCV Bible, link here: https://thetruthnotdoctrine.wordpress.com

1 John 5:3 (MCV) For this is The LOVE of Yah, that we KEEP (hold on to as precious) His Commandments: and HIS commandments are not grievous.

OK, so how does this work? and I ask this question, because elsewhere Yashua Messiah says, through Paul, and I quote:

Colossians 2:14 (MCV) That is, erasing (blotting out) The Whole Law and The Commandments (The Handwriting of Ordinances) given to Moses, that was against us, which was enmity (hostility) to us, and took it all out of the way, or out of the midst of us, nailing it to His stake (cross);

Ephesians 2:15-16 (MCV) 15 Having abolished in His flesh the grievous hostility of The Law of Commandments contained in The Ordinances of Moses; for to make in Himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that He might reconcile both unto Yah in one body by the stake (cross), having slain the grievous hostility between them:

Now is something that is against us, grievous? Yes, you bet your life it is. Furthermore, is something that is enmity also against us, and grievous to us too? Yes, of course, and even more so and from Dictionary.com we get this definition:

Enmity – a feeling or condition of hostility; hatred; ill will; animosity; antagonism.

And from the Greek MSS transliteral and Strong’s:

Enmity – G2189echthra – ekh’-thrah – feminine of G2190; hostility; by implication a reason for opposition: – enmity, hatred.

As we can see, the meaning of the word ‘enmity’ has not changed in 2,000 years. Moreover, how grievous and against us is that? What was it that WAS so full of ill will, animosity, hostility, antagonism and hate toward us, that is, totally hostile and grievous? Answer: the Whole Law (The Commandments). But why was The Whole Law (The Commandments) so full of ill will, animosity, hostility, antagonism and hate toward us and against us, and thereby grievous?

Answer: because it condemned us due to our sinful natures that continually broke The Whole Law, and still does condemn us if we stupidly CHOOSE to live under it. It finds us guilty as charged, EVERY TIME, with no escape from the penalties, due to the condemnation, other than through repeated animal sacrifices and scape goats to alleviate this dreadful condition and situation. Added to which, these were only ever temporary or shadow sacrifices with no real substance to them. Sin again, and yet more animals had to be sacrificed, that is, repetitive confession of sins. This was not only grievous, but a wretched and tiresome way of living or condition to be in.

However, there is another side to this, and we need to be clear on the whole issue. Those of the satanic Cainite-Judeo-Christian Religion continue with the same meaningless ritual, even today, with their repetitive confession of sins (see link No. 1 below). OK, they don’t sacrifice animals, but they get down on their feeble knees and perpetuate the same blasphemous repetitive ritual, so the same Old Covenant spirit pervades. This, dear people, is Old Covenant behaviour, active and operational, in the New Covenant age of His Glorious Grace.

Right, so we can now see why The Whole Law or The Commandments ARE grievous due to man’s fallen condition, and yet John says Yashua Messiah’s Commandments are NOT grievous, why and how is that? Is this a contradiction we’re looking at? No way, because HIS Commandments are very different in two ways:

First, they are no longer binding as Laws to be obeyed, due to them now being written on our hearts. Circumcision is now of the heart – invisible, not of the flesh – visible; internal, and not external – inward, and not outward. What does this mean? Does it mean we now sin to our heart’s content, because there is no longer any condemnation under The Law? Nay, God forbid, for He will forbid, even to the point of placing us in a pig sty to eat with the pigs, as He did with The Prodigal Son.

So what are you saying, I hear you say? I am saying that if we die with Yashua Messiah, fully immersed, in the Baptismal pool, and are born of Yah (born again) we will have a INNER DESIRE NOT TO SIN, due to the circumcision of our hearts. If, on the other hand, YOU do not have this inner desire not to sin, then you are NONE OF HIS and are reprobate in your thinking. Not only that, but if you profess to be a follower of Yashua Messiah and do not have an inner desire not to sin then you are worse than the lost and unsaved. You are more evil and wretched than they are.

Second, they are the same commandments as the old commandments and yet new at the same time hence John also said this:

1 John 2:7 (MCV) Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is The Word which ye have heard from the beginning.

Now what is this Word that we and they had heard from the beginning? Right here:

Exodus 20:6 (MCV) And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that LOVE Me, and ‘keep’ (hold onto as precious and valuable) my commandments.

Notice, and notice it well, the crucial Word here is LOVE – period. Those that LOVE Yashua Messiah, that is, those displaying the first of the Fruits of The Set Apart Exclusive Spirit are keeping The Commandments (see link No. 2 below). So if we love Yah are we going to keep His Commandments voluntarily and willingly, because we WANT TO, or do we still need the school teacher (The Law) with a bat standing over us like naughty infant school children?

OK, so let’s now write HIS Commandments so that we can confound the literal Ten Commandment obeying treadmill slaves out there who are attempting to earn their salvation by obedience and works under The Law.

Matthew 22:36 (MCV) Master, which is the great commandment in The Law?

Notice the satanic loaded question asked by an evil creature of The Law when he said: “Which is the great commandment IN THE LAW?”

Notice Yashua Messiah’s reply:

Matthew 22:38 (MCV) This is the first and great commandment.

Now NOTICE what Yashua Messiah says in reply: “This is the first and great commandment.” Period! – Full Stop! – End of! – BUT NOT IN THE LAW! So if it was not in The Law what was it in? Answer: in LOVE and in The Spirit under Yashua Messiah’s Glorious Saving Grace and from the heart.

Yashua Messiah then states clearly what HIS commandments are:

Matthew 22:37-39 (MCV) Yashua said unto him, Thou shalt LOVE The Yahavah thy Yah with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt LOVE thy neighbour as thyself.

If we then add in this verse for good measure:

Romans 13:8 (MCV) Owe no man any thing (be under no obligation to anyone), but to agape Love one another: for he that agape Loves his brothers and sisters has fulfilled The Law,

He that loveth another hath fulfilled The Law. What does that mean? Easy, if The Law is fulfilled it is no longer hanging over us like Damocles’ Sword.

Now we can plainly see why HIS Commandments are not grievous and I hope for your own sake that you can, too, for if you cannot then 1,000 years of outer darkness awaits you in The Resurrection. You have now had your warning in agape LOVE.

  1. Why yeshua why not Jesus
Sounds like yeshiva which came up with corrective spelling on phone which reminds me of shiva/satan

    • Nothing wrong with Jesus Christ or better The Lord Jesus Christ or even Lord Jesus but I never use just Jesus, it has the taint of flippancy, disrespect, insincerity and contempt.

However I use Yashua Messiah as it separates me from fake Christians who use Jesus, but follow a fake Jesus.

Yashua is just Joshua, as is Jesus and means ‘deliverer’ or ‘He who saves’.

I know nothing of any yeshiva and it is obviously a very different word.

      Thanks for your comment.

  2. Jesus Christ’s sacrifice at Calvary put an end to the Jewish ceremonial law which is what is being referred to here eg animal sacrifices, washing, eating, forms of dress etc which no man could keep perfectly, it did not nullify the ten commandments. “If ye love me keep my commandments” adhering to them is a sign of loving God which Jesus Christ tells us to do.
I suggest you read Matt 5:18-20 also as it relates to what you are doing
To suggest we can break his commandments provided we love God is contradictory nonsense.
I hope you accept my comment in the spirit in which it was intended to review your interpretation.

  3. I have read your article on the ceremonial law, both articles give people the impression that the commandments no longer apply and that only love matters. Why you also strain at a gnat over the definitions of keep or obey the commandments I really do not know when it is quite clear that we should obey them. “Thou shalt not” is a command to be obeyed whether willingly by one saved by grace or grudgingly by the unsaved through conscience because these laws are written in the hearts of Israel. By your definition one may “keep” the commandments without obeying them.
which is as opaque as this article.

    • Looks like you have read it but it has gone from one ear to the other with very little in between capable of understanding it. And, of course, that is the problem with Spiritually dead wretches like yourself.

YOU: “I have read your article on the ceremonial law, both articles give people the impression that the commandments no longer apply and that only love matters.”

You got it in one, sunshine. The Law is for the Lawless – the lost and unsaved.

Now tell tell me how someone who loves God is going to break the Commandments? Or tell me how someone who is led by The Spirit of God is going to break The Commandments?

You can also tell me if you are born of God or born of Moses?

If you had read and understood my very plain English KEEPING means holding on to and treasuring something. This is what real Christians do. Satanic Judaisers like yourself invoke the Old Covenant on themselves and condemn themselves in so doing = GUILTY UNDER THE LAW AS CHARGED.

  4. Wow you don’t hold back do you?
1 I am not a spiritually dead wretch and who are you to judge in any case
2 My name is not sunshine.
Who loves God and breaks the commandments?
3 King David loved the Lord as attested to by his psalms but he committed adultery and murder
Solomon loved the Lord but went after strange Gods, idolatry and prohibited practices
You did a piece on the Apostle Paul who explains how a convert can backslide, need any more examples?
4 I believe I am saved by grace through faith but if I break the commandments I sin just like Paul
Perhaps your essays are not as clear nor as accurate as you think they are. Further, you bring in Judaic ideas in Genesis by your own admission where you think they are justified (who is the Judaiser here) and delete parts of scripture because YOU don’t think they belong, you are warned in the scriptures of the consequences of such action. Do you not think that God is perfectly capable of saying what he means and meaning what he says? Perhaps the bible is missing the gospel according to Charles?
Your demeanour, rudeness and lack of a humble spirit makes me think you are not what you purport to be.

    • I never hold back when dealing with Judaising mongrel dog blasphemers like you and coming to obvious conclusions is NOT JUDGING. YOU JUDGE YOURSELF BY INVOKING THE LAW (The Commandments) upon yourself. YOU are condemned by your own volition. You need no help from me.

Neither King David nor King Solomon were born of God, so there is no comparison between them and a true Christian, which you are not unless you repent of your vile wickedness.

YOU: “I believe I am saved by grace through faith but if I break the commandments I sin just like Paul.”

You’re not saved by Grace – you kill Grace everytime you invoke The Law upon yourself – YOU are saving yourself through feeble attempts at obeying the Commandments. You’re deluded.

Paul did not sin and he told you twice but you’re so bogged down in your own Pharisee styled self-righteousness you missed it – TWICE:

Romans 7:17 (KJV) NOW THEN IT IS NO MORE I THAT DO IT, but sin that dwelleth in me.

Romans 7:20 (KJV) Now if I do that I would not, IT IS NO MORE I THAT DO IT, but sin that dwelleth in me.

      Then John confirms it:

1 John 3:9 (KJV) Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for His seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

My demeanour is just what you need in order to bring you to repentance.

      • You know, you may not agree with people, but respect for others must remain, even in your writings IF you have in you the love for others that Jesus asks us to have.

      • Hello again,

        1) I never agree with satanic error.

        2) I am not obliged to have respect for those who teach or promulgate satanic error.

        3) I am LOVING you by challenging you and correcting you.

        4) Yashua Messiah was loving the Jews when He said these things:

“Hypocrites!!” “Ye Serpents” “Generation (race) of vipers” “With throats like open graves” “Whited walls” Whited sepulchres” “Sons of the Devil.”

        5) Now answer my earlier question if you can.

  5. Funny. Maybe that’s why I always looked for the door? I could plainly read what Christ wrote but not see it in action; everything was sin and grave feeling.
Possible addition: do we still need the teacher to Cain us???
    LOL

    • Only The Holy Spirit can enable you to see.
You need The Teacher (The Law) to point out your sin. Once you acknowledge that sin or admit that you are a sinner you will then desire forgiveness for those sins and only Yashua Messiah is capable of doing that.

This will then give you the desire to be forgiven and Baptised. After your Baptism and gifting of The Holy Spirit you will no longer be under The Teacher (The Law) and under His Grace.

  6. Here are some verses from the New Testament. There are several others dealing with the importance of God’s commanders. Why do you omit them?

Matthew 5:19 And he that taketh away one of these least commandments, and teacheth men to do the same, shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever observes them, and who teaches to observe them, he will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

1 John 2: 4 He that saith, I knew him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1 John 2: 3 If we keep his commandments, by this we know that we have known him.

1 John 5: 3 For the love of God is to keep his commandments. And his commandments are not painful,

John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love, as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

John 14:15 If you love me, keep my commandments.

John 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he that loveth me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, I will love him, and I will make myself known to him.

1 John 2: 3 If we keep his commandments, by this we know that we have known him

1 John 3:24 He who keeps his commandments dwells in God, and God in him; and we know that He abides in us by the Spirit He has given us

Revelation 14:12 This is the perseverance of the saints, who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

Matthew 19:17 And he said to him, Why dost thou ask me what is good? Only one is good. If you want to enter life, observe the commandments.

1 John 5: 2 We know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and do his commandments.

2 John 1: 6 And love is to walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment in which you must walk, as you have learned from the beginning.

1 John 3:22 Whatever we ask, we receive it from him, because we keep his commandments and do what is pleasing to him

1 Corinthians 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but keeping the commandments of God is everything.

I stop here. It is up to you to continue your research on the importance that God attributes to these 10 Commandments found in Genesis (not from Moses) to Revelation. Be blessed

      • I read your answers to different people’s comments. As soon as you disagree you insult people (saying they are ignorant … but you do not know anything about these people). You are who to talk to people this way. For what an all-powerful person do you take yourself. Not strong as arguments. Surely you know that insults are the arguments of the weak, the arrogant and the proud. You surely know what God thinks of this kind of person.
I ONLY WRITE VERSES FROM THE BIBLE and not another religious book and IMMEDIATELY you insult / judge me without knowing me.
Why not simply discuss while exchanging the Word of God. It is not a way to teach or attract people to the Word of God.
The verses are taken from the Bible, and many are the words of Jesus. how can you write this kind of comment. Moreover, the 10 commandments of God do not go against Grace nor against the sacrifice of Jesus.
Do not answer me, I have no time to lose with someone who insults instead of arguing. May God protect you and the Holy Spirit teach you.

      • Now listen, you argumentative jumped up know-nothing popinjay!

My Blog is here to teach people The Truth about salvation under Yashua Messiah’s Glorious Grace, and the last thing I need is a puffed up, vain, Spiritually dead, Judaising mongrel dog like you posting your satanic garbage here. This will be the last time I post your satanic nonsense.

And think yourself lucky that I am even allowing your drivel on my blog, for it is satanic poison.

I talk to people as I find them and I find you vile and evil with your Judaising doctrine of devils. I therefore treat you as you should be treated, in order to shock you and drive you to repentance of your vile evil wickedness.

Judge you???? LOL You judge yourself by what you type in your comments here, so need no assistance from me.

Any idiot can copy and paste verses from The Bible, but if you’re Spiritually dead and devoid of Spiritual discernment and understanding, as you are, you will not even comprehend a word of what you’re copying and pasting. You’re like a road sweeper attempting brain surgery – beyond parody – 100% laughable, a total joke, only I am not laughing.

Discuss??????? I have nothing to discuss with a blind guide such as you! You’re on the way to outer darkness.

The Law (The Ten Commandments) is 100% opposed to Grace. Either you live under The Ten Commandments or you live under His Glorious Saving Grace. Now which is it for you? Loser!
